1- Create a NEW folder, somewhere on your workstation or server; call it “Restore”, for example: C:\Temp\Restore;
2- Create a new DataEase application by running your shortcut that invokes “De16M.exe”; the DataEase start-up screen should be displayed;
3- Press the [Esc] key once, then press the [UP ARROW] key once;
4- Type in the FULL path to the RESTORE folder you have created in step 1 (e.g. C:\Temp\Restore);
5- Press [Enter], then type the name of your application, then press [Enter] again;
6- Select option 2: yes (for creating a new application);
7- Select option 1: Native (for the database engine type);
8- Specify a user name (you can also leave this field blank), then press [Enter];
9- Specify a password (you can also leave this field blank), then press [Enter];
10- DataEase should display the Main menu; select menu option 6: Application Maintenance;
11- Select menu option 3: Restore Application;
12- Enter the FULL path of the backed up application, then press [Enter];
13- You should now get the option to either “Rebuild original application” or “Migrate to new location”, select option 1: Rebuild original application;
14- Then select option 1: Ignore Error and Continue;
15- DataEase displays the “Restore Application” screen, press [Y] key to commence the restore;
16- Verify the Backed-up application path and press [Y] if it is correct;
17- DataEase will start the Restore process;
18- If a message “Restore Complete – No Errors” is displayed, this indicates your application was backed up successfully (if there are errors during the Restore process, please investigate & resolve and then re-do the above steps);
19- Press [Enter] to EXIT Restore.
