Every 6 months when the time changes (daylight saving changes), users of DataEase 4.53 may experience an “User Open Directory Error”. To fix this you need to change the timestamp on your De453 software, as per the steps outlined below:
1) Download the Userform file from our Downloads section and extract it to the C:\ drive of your workstation that runs your DataEase application.
2) After extraction, you should see file: [Userform.exe] in the root of the C:\drive (i.e. the full location for this file should be: “C:\userform.exe”).
3) Next, run a DOS command prompt (if this is an XP workstation you will need to select Start -> Run -> and type the word “cmd”, without the speech marks, in the space provided adjacent to the label “Open”). A DOS window (normally black in color), should be displayed.
Then type the following in the DOS window:
C:
Cd\
Userform C:\De453
(N.B. replace the C:\De453 with the full path to where you DataEase 4.53 software is held).
4) Close the DOS window (type EXIT at the DOS prompt) and you should now be able to log back into your DataEase application.
