1. Open the document in User View, choose Query>>Sort Records. DataEase displays a blank form;

2. Choose a sort order by choosing Query>>Ascending to display records from the lowest to highest value in the specified Sort field OR Descending to display records from the highest to lowest value in the specified Sort field;

3. To choose a Sort field, click on the field or press the Spacebar when the cursor is in the field, DataEase displays a 1 in that field to show it is the first sort level;

4. To sort records by additional fields, repeat steps 2 and 3;

5. To view the selected records, choose View>>Table. To view just the first record, choose Goto>>First Record.


NOTE: To modify the sort specifications, select a field, type a new sort level number, and insert (or delete) a – (minus sign) to specify descending or ascending order.
